WHITNEY LAKE NOVEMBER 7-9/2007
Free camping, Free WiFi, ....for 3 nights! The park resembles a State Park with large treed sites , the difference is there are full hook-ups, water, sewer and electric. The park is located on Lake Whitney. We got parked and settled in.
Day two we had to go listen to the "45" minute presentation ......actually 3 hours! So much for day two. The whole deal is sort of like a timeshare only it's with campsites, then to make things interesting they also add in timeshares and cabins and cruises. Way too much information and a little expensive for the type of traveling that we do. We told them we would think about it and they gave us a $50.00 gift certificate to Camping World. We did have a nice walk along the waterfront and found lots of burrs for the dogs. It took me forever to get them all brushed out.
Day three they came to the door with a really good deal cause this guys just happen to come into the park who was getting out of RV'ing and wanted to dump his membership at a really discounted price.......ya.....still no deal.
We drove for 50 miles the the Dinosaur State Park, then paid $5.00 each to get in to see where they had removed dinosaur foot prints from a river bed. We did see two of three prints but we darn near killed ourselves getting to them! Not only that but we had the dogs with us and they managed to find another bunch of Burrs. That's right .... another brushing!
