MORE NEW STUFF!

In the fall we decided we would start looking for a new trailer. We have been watching on the internet and found some for sale in various places as well as here in Texas. We found one near Houston and almost bought it when Colin saw an email on his computer about one we had found in Ohio. The one here in Texas would mean we would have to jockey two trailers home.....not a fun concept. It turned out the one in Ohio was the same price as the one down here but was a year newer and has pretty much every upgrade available as well as a washer and dryer and central vac! We checked out the pictures on the internet and were happy with what we saw. We sent a deposit by courier and will make the final deal when we get to Ohio on the way home. This trailer will give us a lot more room and we should be much more comfortable. We are really excited.

AN ADDITION TO OUR LITTLE FAMILY

We made what we thought was our last trip to Mexico before leaving the valley. We needed to pick up some meds and heart worm pills for the dog. We walked into the new Vet shop and I proceeded to talk to the lady there to get Splash's pills. Meanwhile behind my back this little apricot and cream, Miniature poodle was seducing Colin. We talked about having a second dog and decided it wouldn't be a good idea......until Colin had time to get home and think about how cute she was. We drove back to Mexico the next morning and she was still there. After checking with Customs and finding out that we needed a certificate stating that she had all the shots and looked healthy, we were on our way to get her. Less than an hour later we were walking back across the border with our new puppy.

We called her MEXI as she came from Mexico. The first night was not so good, she cried and barked the whole night long. On the second night I decided to sleep on the couch with her. She was so good, she never had one mistake. We are paper training her and she is doing very good. Splash isn't real excited just yet but last night she actually laid on the couch with Mexi snuggled up to her. so now we are a two dog family.

DIAPER DOG

Poor Splash has come down with a bladder infection. I took her to the vet and they gave me some antibiotics for her. She was having a little leaking problem though. Not so good for bedding and furniture. Baby diapers were the answer. The first time I put them on she was trying to walk on her front legs but has since become quite accustom to them. She reminds me of a little performing Monkey.

NEW GLASSES IN MEXICO

Bob and Carol invited us to go to Mexico for a little shopping and alot of Margarita's. I offered to be designated driver as I would not be drinking.....Good thing because they were very goooood! Margaritas! I also picked out new glasses for myself as they are alot cheaper here. For basically the same frames and lenses as I got the last time in Canada which cost me almost $500.00, these came to $335.00 with an eye exam. So far I am quite happy with them. I ordered them and can pick them up on Friday. After the shopping portion of the trip we headed for "Pedro's" the bar where we all agreed to meet. The service was bad but the Margaritas where good! We left Mexico and headed for a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. There were 8 of us and we enjoyed a good Mexican meal.

MEXICO DENTAL WORK

Dental work in Mexico is quite good, inexpensive but.....oh you have to be very patient! Colin's appointment was for 3:00 so we arrived a few minutes before. There was no room in the waiting area so I told Colin I would check out the street and then come back to get him.
I did both sides of the street and looked at everything and then returned to the office. Colin was sitting in the waiting room and had not yet gone in.....it was 5:30. I was getting tired so I got my one bottle of liquor and headed back across the border to the truck. I fell asleep in the truck for about an hour and Colin came back about 6:45. He had broken the side off of his tooth and they told him at the dentist office where we had been staying that he would probably require a root canal and a crown, to the tune of about $1,200. dollars. The dentist in Mexico said that he could easily build the side up with filling material and it should last for many years......bottom line...x-rays and everything $70.00. Good Deal!!

ON THE MOVE - FULTON TO MERCEDES

It was time to move on from Fulton and head down to the valley. Yesterday we packed everything up and Dorrace made us a wonderful farewell dinner. Prime Rib and Shrimp which was very, very good!

By 11:00 we were on the road and heading for Llano Grande Resort. It was not sunny but the weather kept getting warmer as we drove. We arrive at about 2:30 and found our spot. The street was having a block party and we no sooner parked in front of our spot when a lady approached me to tell me we were welcome to join in and since we just arrived we didn't have to bring anything. We decided to get everything set up first and then we went to find Our friends Bob and Carol. They invited us over for a drink so when we were all set up we walked over.
