Dorrace getting ready to serve up our feast.

We woke up to cool temperatures but bright sunshine. Nothing like starting off the year with the sun in the sky!

We were invited over to our friend Dorrace's for her traditional New Years Day Dinner. The meal consisted of Black Eyed Peas, Pork, cabbage and roasted potatoes. The Pork, Cabbage and peas represent Health, Wealth and Happiness......not sure if I got the order right though??? It's a simple meal but tastes really good after having all the fancy food we have around this time of year.
There were 10 of us all together and Dorrace did a great job of getting everything ready.

After we were finished we took the dogs for a walk along the waterfront.....a 2 mile mile return trip to the lighthouse and back. It was a bit windy right along the water so we came back along the side streets.

The rest of the day was pretty quiet because I think we are both coming down with our first colds of the year.....How fun is that!
