EXPERIMENTAL SEWING
My Masterpiece of the day!
Mexi Modeling her new pants for Splash.
Gee Mom do I really have to wear these?
As you all probably know, last year we bought another dog in Mexico. Mexi is a great dog but has a heart condition that makes it impossible for her to be anesthetized.......therefore she can't be spayed. The first time she went into heat she was in a kennel and it was not so much a problem with the furniture. I checked on the internet to see what was available. I got a pretty good idea of what was required, so I got out some paper and I made a pattern for her approximate size by taking some measurements.....then we started to sew. They turned out pretty good for a first attempt. She's not real excited about wearing them but I think she will get used to it. I made a second pattern, tweaking the measurements, size of the leg holes and the position of the tail hole. I have cut two pairs out but will leave them to sew for tomorrow.
You can buy these things at pet stores but I think they are around $20.00 to $25.00. Mine are every bit as good and I think they are cuter.
I decided also today that I felt like baking so I made a lemon pie. It turned out very good and tasted good too! I had way too much for Colin and I so I took some over to Pat and Ron our neighbors. Ron had a really nice life jacket for his dog but he is selling his boat so he gave me the life jacket for Mexi. Good deal!
I had several calls from Shelly today asking me question about how to make a recipe that I had given her. Silly me left out an important ingredient so she was having a bit of a problem. We fixed it though and I haven't yet heard how they turned out.
