Colin waiting on the back deck before we head out for our trip.
A fellow in our park has a 30' Main Ship. We have been thinking that when we replace our boat this would be a good option. One day while walking the dogs I met Jimmy and asked if we could have a look at it. Yesterday he walked by and said that Friday would be a good day.
After aerobics I packed my knapsack and by about 11:30 we were heading to Key Allegro Marina for a trip aboard "Medicine Man". As Jimmy is a single retired man he doesn't get a lot of occasion to go out with people on his boat. He and his dog Ozzy were happy to have us.
We headed out of the marina and towards Bass Island, a 21 mile long island with a cattle ranch on it. At the beginning it was a little rough but as we came around behind the island it calmed down nicely. On the trip back I sat on the back deck in a chair facing the sun and had a great ride back.
After we left Jimmy and Ozzy we went to the Rockport Aquarium. It is very small but very well set with alot of interactive displays for kids. I did manage to pick up quite a few good recipe cards. From there we drove into Port Aransas to do some banking.
When we got back we decided to have dinner at Pops restaurant. There special on Fridays is a steak dinner for $14.95. We were extremely impressed and really enjoyed our meal.
