STARTING THE WORK AT THE LOT
Interesting Fungus growing on one of the trees.
The water was very calm first thing in the morning.
As the drive way was not quite ready yet we had to carry the bags of cement for the shed footings down from the truck. The backhoe guy took pity on Colin and loaded them in his scoop.
One of the trucks delivering fill kinda missed the driveway so they had to unload it and then pull him out.
My feet in the water where the dock is going to go.
The Dock Being Delivered to the Launch Ramp.
Colin towing the dock across the bay to our lot.
Colin tying the dock to the trees to temporarily hold it in place.
The Cat starting work on the Trailer Pad at the top of the Driveway.
Colin measuring the spot for the shed footings.
Our Street Number on Boisvert Rd.
Yeah! We get to take down the For Sale sign!!
It seemed like I had just got to sleep when the alarm clock went off. We got ready and headed out to the lot. Seems the excavator was a little late getting to our job so we did a little bit of prep work on the shed location and then headed out to buy concrete for the base and also to arrange the delivery of the dock. It was either take delivery at 2:00 today or wait till the end of the week. We had to scamble a little to pick up the boat and launch it before they dropped the dock off at the Minettville launch ramp but everything went on schedule. We managed to tie it to the trees just as the Thunderstorm hit. In hopes of seeing the rain stop we headed out to the grocery store to get a few things and then returned. By this point it was raining even harder but we had to go down and make sure that the dock was secure for the night. By the time we were done we were both soaked to the bone.
By the end of the day Bob the Excavator had our trailer pad cleared and levelled ready for gravel and the driveway punched through to the back of where the house will go. He figures he will be pretty much done by tomorrow. Wow such progress for one day.....although we did not get the footings poured for the shed.
