WE CHRISTENED THE "RONCO"

We got home from getting groceries and then I had a chat with McKenna on the Skype phone. She is feeding herself now and does quite a good job of it. Since day one Colin has been trying to get her to say "Pops, Pops, Pops......well today she came the closest I have ever heard from her. It really was cute!

Chicken breasts al a ronco!!

Colin checking to make sure everything is going okay.

We bought a small Ronco Rotisserie the other day. Friends of ours have one and they absolutely love it .......everything that we have had at their place has been very good. Our first attempt were some chicken breasts.....we seasoned them, loaded them into the basket and turned it on.........45 minutes later...........juicy, chickeny, goodness. they really were good. Clean up is quite simple as everything comes apart and you can throw it in the dishwater.......or washer if you have one.

I found a great picture of Logan on Facebook that Sherri-Lyn's cousin had put on at Christmas. Thank goodness someone is keeping me up to date! He is really starting to look like Cort!

Mexi has taken quite a shine to this stuff dog we bought for her to play with. We keep finding her snuggled up to it. I think she thinks it the puppy she never had.

QUIET CHRISTMAS

Mexi keeping her stuffed friend company.

Christmas eve we got together with 3 other couples and went to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. We had a good meal and enjoyed the company. We had a quiet evening at the trailer and tucked in early.

Christmas day was equally as quiet as everyone decided against the Christmas dinner at the Rec Hall. We sat outside even though it was cool and had a Christmas drink with a few friends. Although I did not make a turkey we had a special meal of Coquilles St. Jacques, Salad and green beans. For desert we had Mince pie........which I can't believe we found! They just don't do Mince pie down here. It was a little different as it had pineapple in it but was very tasty.

We talked to Cort and Sherri-Lyn and Luke and Shelly and had a one way conversation with Logan......we did a little better with McKenna. Really missed seeing them on Christmas. Hopefully next year we will have Christmas in our new house.

BREAKFAST IN A BAG??

A little of this an some of that........

Mix it up..................

Into the big pot!

Alittle toast and jam and you have breakfast!

We arrived Sunday and by Monday morning we were in the full swing of life on "Juarez St". 9:30 AM I was off for my 3 mile walking workout......and yes I actually got to the end of the 3 miles! Then it was back to the trailer to shower and change for a late breakfast. We had to bring one omelet item, 2 eggs each and cutlery. Upon arrival we were issued a zip lock bag for our omelet. Spray the inside with pam and then add your eggs and anything you want in the omelet......give it a little squeeze and shake and write your name on the bag. Next stop the big pot of boiling water......in it goes for about 15 minutes...........slide it out of the bag and there you have it.....a delicious hot omelet....get your toast and you are good to go! What a great idea that was!

The rest of the day was spent finishing our set up and putting up the Christmas lights.

TIME TO MOVE ON

The pond at rustic Cove

Suzanne and Armin's trailer next door to ours.

Our Site at Rustic Cove.

Sunday morning we packed up and took the dogs for their last walk around Rustic Cove. We really wish we could have stayed longer but it was time to head down to the Valley. We made excellent time driving down and had planned to stop and have lunch along the way but we were there before we realized. At this point we decided that we would just go and have a an early dinner and then head to the park and land the trailer.

We met Jenny and Don at the North Gate who informed us that everyone was waiting for us to arrive. True to form everyone was sitting on the vacant lot next to us getting happy hour under way and ready to watch us park..........nothing like an audience to boost your confidence.
All things considered it went well and before we knew it we had joined the happy hour and getting updated on everyone's new. It was great to be back.

FLYING TIME

Suzanneopening her Christmas gift

Armin checking out his new meat thermometer.

Colin vacuuming up some of the mess from the new installation.

The new TV.

Wow! It seems like we just got here and we are already packing up to leave. We have spent a wonder two weeks at Rustic Cove with our friends Suzanne and Armin. We have had some great meals together and some good reminiscing sessions.

I have done a load of cleaning and the trailer is almost back to it's tidy self after a summer of abuse and neglect. A few more things to fix and install and then it should be a worry free winter. The biggest (literally) change we made was to install a 52"LCD Flat screen TV on a Swivel arm. It was quit fun when we had our friends over the other night we played a loop of a Fireplace burning and it looked very real and was actually quite relaxing to sit and watch.

I was disappointing that we could not have come earlier and stayed a bit longer.

OMA GOT A NEW HAIR CUT

.
New haircut. It is shorter in the back than the front.

Mexi helping with the Christmas cards.........how dare I pile my cards where she likes to sleep!

After spending the whole summer in the bush my hair was looking a bit scary so it was time for a trip to the hairdresser.

I decided much to Colin's chagrin to go with a shorter different style. I love it hew hates......it will grow!

Next on the list was getting the Christmas cards printed and sent out.....naturally I printer broke in the midst of it all......good thing we have 2. It did however necessitate a trip to Best Buy to replace it.

TEXAS AT LAST!

Ice and Snow sliding off the bow of the trailer.

After it crashed on the roof of the truck.

We left from Fergus after having a visit with our doctor with an "All Clear" on our health and a flu shot we were finally on the road to Texas.

We crossed the border at Detroit and for the first time ever they wanted to go into the trailer. It was kind of funny because the guy made Colin give him the keys to the truck so he could not drive away with him in the trailer. He checked in the fridge ....vegetables and looked into the bedroom and then said we were fine to go.....non the less a little unnerving!

Except for a bit of rain the weather was good till we hit Louisiana......... SNOW????? in Louisiana???? We drove for about an hour through a heavy snow storm and then decided we had better pull off for the night at our favour campground......Walmart.

In the morning I went out to the truck to find a thick layer of icy build up sliding off the bow of the trailer.

Colin keeps putting his shorts on but it's not warm yet!

We arrived in Rustic Cove RV Park at around noon and were greeted by our friends Suzanne and Armin, Heidi and Angel. Parking the trailer went smoothly and then it was time to catch up. They made us a wonderful turkey dinner and Cy and Audrey also came over to join us. A great evening!

CHRISTMAS WITH LUKE AND SHELLY

Logan, Oma and Pops.

Sherri-Lyn and Logan enjoying dinner.

McKenna carrying the new blanket I made for her.

McKenna opening one of her gifts.

Luke really liked his new hat I made for him

We were just getting too tired to really get into the big shape sorter turtle.

Before we left Cort's on Tuesday we took Sherri-Lyn and Logan out to dinner (Cort was gone on a business trip) Logan behaved very well and we had a nice time. We left the next morning and did some shopping on route......specifically a new computer for me.

The last night before we left for the south we got together with Luke, Shelly and McKenna to exchange Christmas gifts.

McKenna missed her nap that day so we opened gifts before we ate as we thought she mihgt not make it all the way through otherwise.

She is walking everywhere now and is just so cute to watch.
