GREAT WEEK IN THE KOOTENAYS
Gracie and Mexi have finally agreed to get along.
Snuggled up on the love seat.
The view from our trailer just before the snow storm hit.
A very rapid change in weather saw a huge bank of snow clouds roll down the side of the mountain and dump about 1/2 an inch of snow in a very short short time. I did however melt as quickly as it had accumulated.
One of our walks took us along the edge of the Davis Creek.......very pretty!
We stopped at the Esso Gas station to check out their dump station (that was not there) and this fellow was peaking over the edge of the rocks at the side of the lot.
We were having a stand off and as I moved closer he got more skittish!
As mom is arriving at the end of the week, Bonnie, Colin and I spent a day in Mom's room. We unpacked and aired out her bed linen, then made the bed, vacuumed and moved the furniture around, cleaned her bathroom and Colin put up a shelf unit/closet rods in the closet. Mom will have to unpack the boxes that she had shipped here and decide where she wants everything but at least when she gets here she can go to bed and use her bathroom.
Brad gave me my birthday present early........3 beautiful Rainbow trout......which are now filleted and in the freezer. We had half a one for lunch one day and it was delicious!!
On Saturday Bonnie and I got up early and headed to Balfour for a garage sale. Bonnie got a great rocking chair for $12.00 and a brownie and I bought a brand new Ronco Rotisserie for $20.00!! Such a great deal! It had kabob skewers, a basket, gloves and elastic ties and everything was still in it's original wrapping.....never used.
When we arrived back in Kaslo there was suppose to be another garage sale there but we could not find it so we decided to have a late breakfast of "Salmon Eggs Benedict".......they make them the very best ever at the Tree House Restaurant and we both enjoyed it immensely.
We arrived back at the house, loaded up the truck and Bonnie's car with all the garbage out of the garage and headed to the dump. A very cleansing feeling getting rid of all that stuff.
On Sunday Colin and I drove into Kaslo to get some groceries and when we got back Mom and Rick were here. It was so good to see her again!! she looks great and made the trip without problem.......she is such a trooper!!
